Georgia Grove Tribute

Georgia Grove was a celebrated community leader and activist in Southern California. She became the second woman elected to the Pomona City Council in 1974 and was a six-time President of the Pomona Republican Women. She was recognized by both Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon for her outstanding work on behalf of the Republican Party. Her constant good works and gregarious personality won support on both sides of the political platform. Democrats in the 61st Assembly District awarded her with “Woman of the Year” in 1989 and 1997 for her community service. Georgia was dedicated to many causes over the years, but she is remembered most for her determination, and having a steadfast compass always pointing her towards “trying to do the right thing”… whatever the situation. Georgia Grove was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1992. She retired from public service in 1999 and this video was made for her retirement party. She passed away July 24, 2003.
